The Sigma 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG APO OS HSM is a telephoto zoom lens designed for Full Frame sensors. It’s large telephoto zoom range plus its compact size of 92.5 x 203.5 mm or 3.6 x 8 inch and weight of 1640g, make it a great all purpose travel lens.
It’s not too heavy to shoot handheld thanks to the very effective image stabilization. Focus is quick and reliable. The lens itself is well made and even great looking.
At minimum focal distance, and at the short end (120-200mm), it is quite amazing, but at the other end (towards 400mm) it is pretty soft.
I’ve found it to be plenty sharp enough to take excellent pictures and at a price that I could afford. I’m really satisfied with this Sigma lens.
What telephoto lens do you use?
